A fluid ounce (abbreviated fl oz, fl. oz. or oz. fl., old forms ℥, fl ℥, f℥, ƒ ℥) is a unit of volume (also called capacity) typically used for measuring liquids. Various definitions have been used throughout history, but only two are still in common use: the British Imperial and the United States customary fluid ounce. The fluid ounce is a measure of volume.
An imperial fluid ounce is 1⁄20 of an imperial pint, 1⁄160 of an imperial gallon or approximately 28.41 ml.
A US fluid ounce is 1⁄16 of a US fluid pint and 1⁄128 of a US liquid gallon or approximately 29.57 ml, making it about 4.08% larger than the imperial fluid ounce.
Milliliter
General Information
A milliliter is a measurement used in the metric system. The metric system is a system of measurement that uses the liter as the basis for measuring capacity. A milliliter is a unit used to measure capacity. A unit of measure of capacity (liquid) being one thousandth( 0.002 pint) of a litre. In other words, 1,000 milliliters could fit inside a one-liter container. It is labeled as to source and manufacturing lot, but potency is uniformly identified as units of activity per millilitre.
